Registration for U11A and U13A&B tryouts opens Sunday November 5. Sign ups with date/time options will be sent to those registered.

2024 Evaluation Save the Dates!

14U (2008, 2009 and 2010 birth years) and 16U (2006 and 2007 birth years) Travel Teams: August 26 & 27, 2023

U15A & B , U17A, U17B and U19A 2024 Teams: September 9 & 10, 2023

Make up and additional dates will be scheduled as needed. The goal is for all teams to be formed by the end of September as Performance Program will begin October 1st. U11A, U13A & B: Targeted dates of November 17/18, 24/25, 2023

Make up and additional dates will be scheduled as needed. The goal is for all teams to be formed by December 15. Weekly team practices to begin January 2024. Individual weekly performance program sessions will be available as an extra and will run in 2 separate sessions October-December and January-March.

U11 House, U13/15/17C - for those who do not have scores from any of the above evaluations, targeted dates February 9/10, 23/24, 2024

Make up and additional dates will be scheduled as needed. The goal is for all teams to be formed by the end of March. Weekly team practices to begin in the dome April 2024.

Birth Years for each division for the 2024 Season:

U11 - 2013, 2014

U13 - 2011, 2012

U15 - 2009, 2010

U17 - 2007, 2008

U19 - 2005, 2006

Please note the following:

• Athletes must attend 2 sessions - 1 for metrics and 1 for game play in order to be eligible to make a competitive A or B team.
• Team level and how many teams at each level will exist will not be determined until evaluations are complete - these decisions are made based on data collected at evaluations. Please refer to FSA's Player Evaluation and Team Selection Policy for more information about team formation.
• Any athlete who is not concerned with making an A team or a competitive B team is not required to attend evaluations, however, attendance is helpful in order to balance teams at the C and U11 House levels. If you prefer not to attend evaluations, please send notification to evaulationdirector@fastballstalbert.ca This will help our resource planning to know in advance!
• Once the initial evaluations have occurred, for parent coached teams, coaches will be selected based on applications received and the player evaluations of the applicant's athlete (where the coach has applied to coach their child). To coach at the B level the coach's athlete needs to evaluate in the window of the B level athletes. The A(U11)/B(U13/15/17) coach(s) will be selected and a subsequent evaluation(s) is to occur to make a final team(s) selection at the A(U11)/B (U13/15/17) level. In some cases there may be more than 1 additional evaluation, particularly where there is more than 1 coach/team at that level to be decided on. • Once the A(U11)/B(U13/15/17) level team(s) have been finalized, all remaining coaches will be selected and remaining teams formed.
